THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO IMPORT /EXPORT YOUR PET TO OR FROM INDIA
ACCOMPANIED BAGGAGE
Where the pet owner is travelling on the same flight as the pet and the pet dog/cat has been booked as Excess/Checked/Accompanied Baggage.
MANIFEST CARGO
Where the pet is booked by Airline cargo. In such a case, it is not necessary for the pet to travel on the same flight.
Note: Only 2 pets (cat/dog) are allowed to travel under one owner’s name irrespective of whether the pet is booked as Accompanied Baggage or as Manifest Cargo into India.
PET TRAVEL
The first thing you need to do when preparing to transport a dog is to make sure he or she is comfortable being in a crate for an extended period of time. If your dog isn’t crate trained, we recommend familiarizing your pup with the kennel by putting treats in the crate and leaving your dog in the crate for the time you are out. This can help ease separation anxiety that may occur, and helps keep your dog calm during what can be a stressful situation.
OUR SERVICE
- Prearrange all necessary flights, ensuring a direct connection when possible.
- Pick up your pet at your house and deliver him to the airport.
- Meet him at the destination airport and deliver him to your home.
- Provide assembled travel kennels.

Airline ticket of yours- Sanitary/ health certificate
- Proof of transfer of residence in India
- A copy of lease agreement/ stay in India
- An Authorization letter on your business letter head stating that you are asking me i.e Dr Chiro Priyo Mitra to obtain the NOC for importing your Pets into India Copy of India
- If coming as Student then University/School admission papers duly signed by the

- Vaccination records .
- Letter of Job offer in India
- Owner passport copy
- A letter from Your company in India stating that you are here for at least 1 year or more for work
- Indian Business visa
- FRRO papers
- Microchip and Rabies Blood Test NOT mandatory to enter India but good to have it done.
For Indian Nationals or OICD card holders the documents pretty much remain the same besides a few additional ones.

HOW TO MEASURE PET CRATE
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED BY FOREIGN NATIONALS TO

Pet Dimensions
- Tip of the nose to base of tail. Do not include any part of the tail in your measurement. This is measurement A.
- Then, measure from the elbow joint in the forearm to the ground. This is measurement B.
- Then measure across your pet’s shoulders. This is measurement C. Then, when your pet is standing erect, measure from the top of your pet’s head to the ground. Add the measurement from the top of the head to the tip of your dog’s or cat’s ears if the ears are held erect. This is measurement D
- When you contract with Universal Relocations you are assigned a Personal Move Counselor who will work with you to arrange the fastest, most direct flight for your pet. We work with your relocation schedule to ensure as smooth a move as possible.
Crate Dimensions
- Small #100 – 21x16x15
- Med #200 – 27x20x19
- Intermediate #300 – 32x22x23
- Large #400 – 36x24x26
- X-large #500 – 40x27x30
- Giant #700 – 48x32x35
There are many different brands of pet travel crates and kennels.There are small size differences from brand to brand, and store to store. As long as the crate is bolt-together plastic with a metal gate, and within twoinches of the crates listed and pictured above, it would be considered suitable for pet transport. The giant #700 will always be 35 inches tall from all manufacturers.
